There are several capital projects being undertaken to assist the business in meeting its environmental objectives.

An example is the construction of a new covered anaerobic waste water treatment pond is expected to begin in December 2011. This multi-million dollar investment will allow Wallace to improve its water treatment, recover methane gas as a renewable energy source, reduce odours and avoid the land-filling of bio-solids. Bio-solids and their sustainable disposal is a major issue for commercial and municipal waste water treatment operations.
