Wallace Corporation operates a composting operation at the Waitoa site. The composting operation is a means of dealing with various by-products streams from its own business and those of its suppliers. This material was previously sent to land-fills.
Compost production follows the standards set out in the New Zealand Composting Standards. At the completion of the composting process the product is then utilised as a soil conditioner for various pasture and crops in the region.
